About Decatur Art Guild

Part of the Community Since 1967

The Decatur Art Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose purpose is to encourage the advancement and appreciation of original arts and crafts in the community. Members form a diverse group whose skills encompass many forms of creative visual arts and have a desire to support and encourage anyone who needs help.

One of the Guild’s most visible roles is organizing the arts and crafts showcase at the Alabama Jubilee Hot Air Balloon Classic. This long-standing effort has helped make original arts and crafts a key part of one of Decatur’s most iconic annual events. While visitors come for the breathtaking balloons, they also discover high-quality, handmade arts and crafts—connecting artists with thousands of attendees from across the region.

We also provide opportunities for the development and enrichment of our members and the general public through educational programs and workshops. These can be presented by our own members or local area artists and craftsmen who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise.

If you have an interest in creating art, improving your skills, or just want to help promote a culture of arts and crafts in the community, we hope you'll join us.
